CHEESE!!! I love me some cheese, and it is alarming how much cheese we go through in this house. I have no problem giving up meat, eggs, and even milk, but oh the cheese. This will take an adjustment. I have heard that the yeast flakes can help give things a "cheesy taste" but I wonder how far a cheesy taste can take me. More on this to come.

From my cold dead fingers.....
So I assume that everyone has one type of food that they can not imagine giving up. I have no idea what food you can't live with out. Maybe you are a lucky person that has an unnatural love for some healthy food, well good for you. But the hardest thing that I will have to say goodbye to is......
Inspiration and Revelation
So I must say that the inspiration for the change is thanks to Pinterest and Netflix. We watched Forks Over Knives, which was a great documentary and kicked start the thought process. Do we really need milk products? We had already contemplated giving up meat when I found a great recipe blog for vegan food through the miracle that is Pinterest. The recipes @ Oh She Glows were incredible, but the documentary led us to the conclusion that dairy products where the next thing to go.The next revolutionary thing we watched on Netflix, was the Engine 2 Kitchen Rescue. Amazing!! Did you know that you can caramelize your veggies with out any oil in the pan? I didn't know that. Where was that pearl of wisdom all these years? I am sure that we have a lot more to learn, and hopefully we can get there one step at a time.
Why the sudden change?
Let's kick this blog off on the right foot with a little intro. I am a wife, mom, friend, crafter, sunday school teacher, childcare provider, blogger, shopping junkie and so much more. But a lot of the time I feel what defines me the most is the packaging that all of those great traits come tied up in. This wonderful body of mine is in need of some serious help. ASAP!! I should start by clarifying that I love my body for what it is. I am extremely overweight, have bad knees, a bad back, and asthma. Our society teaches that I should be ashamed of myself because of the physical weaknesses I have that everyone can see, but I chose to be proud of my body. It is a blessing to have such a great body! My body gets me where I want to go, it provided me with a beautiful child, and despite the pain I feel here and there, I can do a lot of different activities. I just feel that is time for me to return the favor. It is time for me to put in the best food that I can find and treat my body like the amazing temple that is meant to be. Do you feel the same way?
